Mindswitch Mondays Issue #1: Welcome!
Hi Friends,
Thank you for joining me at the very beginning of my journey! I am writing to you during my final lap of the writing course Write of Passage. It has been fascinating to learn a fresh perspective on the writing process in only four weeks. This has been an opportunity to connect with like-minded people around the world, share our experiences, and grow together. The community is just amazing support to start this new adventure.
To tell you a little bit about this course. Write of Passage is a Cohort-Based Courses (CBCs). These courses allow people to learn relevant skills in a short period of time. You can find CBC’s about many topics. They are a great resource to reenter the workforce or upcycle your skills. You can learn more about these courses in my article about CBCs.
What I am working on now:
Writesgiving:
I am grateful to have connected to a group of writers, all of Cohort 6 of Write of Passage. We have come together to celebrate Writesgiving, to create a collaborative piece of writing every month or so. I will be sharing these on my website and will tell you about them in this newsletter.
Alternative approaches to Crossfit for writing:
Two weeks ago during the Write of Passage’s CrossFit for Writing session, we were given the opportunity to give feedback about the writing framework taught. One of my observations was that there was frustration among write of passage students, which centered around the structure for writing used in CrossFit. It seemed as if their style of learning did not match the proposed framework. Before the session ended, David Perell founder and instructor of Write of Passage (WOP), asked me to find an alternative framework that included the feedback given by our peers. I am working on incorporating feedback from our petite writing group to present a solution in the next two weeks.
